Peugeot 106 Quiksilver

We are excited to offer for sale what must have been the dream first car back in the day, the Peugeot 106 Quicksilver. These came with major street cred, were brisk enough to be considered a ‘warm hatch’ but without the wallet-busting insurance premiums.

This example is a lovely low mileage car, a true survivor, totally unmodified and stock. It has clearly been loved by its former owners, all of them keeping paperwork and even the original brochures and handbooks that came with the car – true enthusiast ownership. It has a collection of receipts for various maintenance over the years including multiple services, most recently a Cambelt and Water Pump service as part of our preparation for sale.

Our preparation also includes an inspection to the underside for any corrosion, not uncommon on a car of this age. A small area of corrosion under the passenger floor was identified and professionally repaired, before the underside was coated and protected with underseal to protect the car for the future.

The little 85bhp 1.4 XU engine felt good back when these cars were new but feels even better now. We take for granted just how big cars are now and forget how iconic some cars were back then! It drives beautifully, it really reflects its 55,000 miles, the engine is strong and pulls well. The gearbox is just delightful, and the steering is direct and straight.

There are no knocks or rattles, and the exterior is very tidy for its age but there are a few imperfections as to be expected with a near 30-year-old car. We are on the hunt for some correct rear tailgate badges for the car but they’re fairly rare. As soon as we find some we’ll pop them on!

We take great pride in these classic Peugeots as they are very much in our hearts. We take our time to prepare them and pledge to offer you a good, well-prepared car. This will make a good modern classic for anyone who shares the same nostalgia as us.
