Renault Clio Trophy

We are proud to offer for sale this stunning example of the limited-run Renault Clio Trophy. Car number 421 was supplied new to Jersey in 2005 and remained there until 2016 when it was sold to a buyer in Oxford – it has remained within the same family (showing just two keepers) until now.

Already a nice example when we purchased it, we’ve spent several weeks having this Clio prepared to an extremely high standard by some very talented people. Floyd at Diablo Motorsport completed an inspection and full mechanical overhaul which included cam belt, dephaser, water pump, major service, new injectors and rocker cover gasket, as well as a couple of other minor points.

The paintwork has been sympathetically refreshed to address some common lacquer-peel issues, followed by professional paint-correction and ceramic coating by Pyramid Car Care. The wheels have recently been refurbished and all wear Michelin tyres in good condition.

Inside, the condition was already excellent and so very little effort was required on our part – we’ve simply added a re-trimmed steering wheel supplied by Royal Steering Wheels. The Recaro front seats are in excellent condition, as are carpets, door cards and so on.

Underneath, our Trophy has been subjected to a full professional dry-ice cleaning treatment followed by clear Lanoguard rust protection by local specialists at Sub-Zero Clean with plenty of photos showing the remarkable condition of this car in every aspect.

The Sachs dampers were rebuilt at 60,000 miles, the gearbox is silky smooth and the recent mechanical work means this Clio Trophy feels as sublime to drive as it did in 2005 when it was awarded Five-Stars by EVO Magazine and left such an impact on Harry Metcalfe that he famously purchased the press car direct from Renault, and still owns it to this day and we can see why.
