Jaguar XK Dynamic R

When the XKR Dynamic arrived in Jaguar dealerships, it was a quietly understated but ferociously capable machine. Beneath the elegant styling sat Jaguar’s magnificent 5.0-litre supercharged V8, making the XKR every bit the genuine GT car.

Finished in Stratus Grey over Ivory, this example has one of those colour combinations that perfectly suits the character of the car — sophisticated, understated and unmistakably Jaguar.

The car began life as a JLR Management vehicle, likely serving as the company car of a senior member of staff, before passing into private ownership. Its second owner enjoyed the car for around a year before it subsequently found its way to its third owner, who kept it for a number of years.

Sadly, that owner later succumbed to a lengthy illness, meaning the XKR saw very little use between 2021 and 2025. Thankfully, last year it was brought back into regular use, benefiting from a large service at 58,867 miles, before being acquired by its fourth and current owner.

Today, it drives superbly well and presents in a condition entirely commensurate with its age and mileage. All four tyres are Pirelli items with plenty of tread remaining, while the brakes and mechanical components are all in excellent health.

And then there is that engine…

The 5.0-litre supercharged V8 delivers effortless, almost ridiculous performance, yet the XKR remains an exceptionally comfortable and capable long-distance GT. It will happily cross continents at pace, swallowing mile after mile in supreme comfort — or, equally, provide the perfect excuse for a Sunday morning drive to the pub.

If you have never considered an XKR Dynamic, you genuinely don’t know what you’re missing.

It is a true rival to some seriously prestigious GT cars, yet today represents remarkable value for money. With interest in desirable modern Jaguars enjoying something of a renaissance, we genuinely believe there has never been a better time to own one.
