Driving our SL320 is a pleasure, it feels solid and healthy. The M104 straight-six engine pulls effortlessly, with the 5-speed gearbox providing smooth changes. There are no knocks, squeaks or rattles as you’d expect from a 90’s Benz, and everything works as it should – the A/C blows ice cold, the heated seats are toasty, cruise control, electric soft top, seat adjustment, it’s all there and all functioning correctly.

For a car approaching thirty years old, it presents in extremely good condition – it’s not without a small mark here or there, but overall, it really is clearly a car that has been cherished and well cared for by its former keepers.

Supplied new by Normand Mercedes Benz of Mayfair in March 1998, this SL’s service booklet has a total of 14 stamps, plus the original PDI checklist and factory data card. The most recent major service took place in April 2026 at 86,000 miles and included the air filter, pollen filter, spark plugs and brake fluid, meaning the car is ready to be enjoyed immediately.

Included with the car are a hard top stand, the original factory radio cassette unit, wind deflector, two keys, owners’ manuals and stamped service booklet, along with folders of invoices and MOT certificates, too.
